Contest!!!

I have seen other blogs do contests, and it looks fun. PLUS.............I need your help.
School starts next week, and soccer has been going, and I started teaching Dance again, so our schedule is hectic. Monday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's we have after-school activities going and we won't be home until about 6:30 on those evenings. Which stresses me out a bit. That is too late to start dinner, but 3 nights a week is way too much to be eating fast food. Yuck! So I need ideas!
Give me your best slow cook recipes, make ahead meals, good take-out ideas or anything else that might help me get a good dinner on the table those nights,......before 9'o clock!
So here is the contest, leave me a comment on this post with your idea, recipe, tip, or just a hello and I will put your name in a drawing to win these 6 adorable recipe cards. If your name is picked I will e-mail you these recipe cards that I designed, to you for you to print off as many as you would like. I will be picking the name Tuesday night and posting it on Wednesday, so hurry and leave me your comments. I think this will be a great way for us to all share some yummy ideas, and this gives you anonymous "blog stalkers" a chance to let your voice be heard, and win a cute prize!!! Thanks All! I'm excited to see your ideas!!

I am a "blog stalker." I don't even remember how I found your blog now because I have been reading it for awhile. I love your pictures and I LOVE these recipe cards. My tip - Lasagna from Costco. Make earlier in the day, then just warm it up with some bread and a salad.

Okay, first of all Lisa, you need to let us other "stalkers" see your blog if you are going to comment and make us all curious. hee hee ;) Secondly, here is my favorite ready-in-30-minutes-meal that is a HUGE hit with my whole family! The night before or early that morning make some Strawberry/Banana jello and after it is settled, add some mandarin oranges, bananas and Cool Whip. Then, throw some white rice in a pot (takes about 20/25 minutes from start to finish). Cook some chicken breasts in oil and butter (and my secret ingredient is RED ROBIN seasoning...YUMMMMMMMMM) and when it's cooked about 10 minutes on each side, add a can of cream of mushroom and shredded cheddar cheese. VOILA! Instant meal in about 30 minutes and FABULOUS!!!!!! My girls LOVE it!

WAY cute recipe cards by the way!!! ;)

Jamie, I was getting very, very scared. I thought you were telling me to mix the jello WITH the rice and chicken. I had to re-read it! My family LOVES that meal too, but I haven't tried it with that yummy jello! I will do that next time.

My favorite crock pot idea: Get a cheap chuck roast (blade roast) and put in the crock pot with baby red potatoes and baby peeled carrots. By the end of the day VOILA! You know me, I don't cook so this is a pretty fancy meal at our house!!!! Unless of course Fritz cooks!

My family's favorite crock pot meal is called Crockpot chicken. Put in the crockpot 4 or 5 chicken breasts, 3 TBS butter, and sprinkle a Good Seasonings Italian dry dressing over the chicken. Cook for about 5 hours.
Than added 8 oz. softened cream cheese and one can of cream of mushroom soup(mix together before putting in crock pot). Cook for another hour. Serve over rice or red potatoes. This is a great Sunday meal, it may not work for your late, busy days because you have to add ingredients at the end.
For those busy days, you could pick up a rotissiere (sp?) chicken, potato pearls (from the cannery, my family loves them), and a vegetable. I think those chickens are so good and it is a quick and easy meal. Okay, I think I have shared enough. :)

Mmmm, these all sound so good, can't wait to try them myself. My favorite slow cook recipe is ribs. I do it in the oven, but I'm sure you can do it in a crock pot instead. Just put ribs in, cover to top with water and season as desired (garlic, pepper, seasoning salt, etc). Let cook for several hours (until meat separates easily from bone) then put on a cookie sheet, brush with favorite BBQ sauce and bake for about 20 min or so. Add a salad made ahead of time and some rolls and it's delicious! Also, I think it's Banquet that has crock pot meals in the freezer section. They come in a bag with everything you need, just throw it in a crock pot with water and let cook. You just have to try them out to see which ones your family likes because we don't like them all. Our favorite one is chicken with red skin potatoes & veggies. One time I got adventurous and put Pillsbury biscuits over the top while it cooked to have chicken and dumplings. Pretty yummy!

and Garlic Sprite Chicken
It's late and sadly my recipe collection is not organized.
I will post the ingredients tomorrow.
Hey how about Hawaiian haystacks.
Yummy and easy.
rice, slivered almonds, cheese, olives, mushrooms, chow mein noodles, tomatoes, crushed pineapple, green onions, cream of chicken, cream of mushroom soups combined with a little milk for the sauce on top. And anything else that you want to add.

Hi Heather,
It is Holly's sister here - Only having one child...at the moment...don't know how some of the soccer moms with 4 kids do it.
A friend of mine has 3 kids who play soccer and since many of their evenings are spent at the soccer field and fast food not being a reasonable option both finacially and healthy wise. She buys the styrofoam fastfood containers at Costco and packs her family's dinner in them and packs them in an ice chest to the games.
Just a thought.

I have 2 crock pot recipes, they are actually weight watcher recipes too...if you eat them right.

The first: We lovingly call it Cheesey Chicken Schlop
4 chicken breasts (frozen works fine)
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mush. soup
1 can cheddar cheese soup
Throw them all together - when the chicken shreds apart it is done. Serve it with or over rice.
**Use the Heathy Choice Soups for the WW Recipe**

The second: WW Chicken tortilla soup
4 chicken breasts (again- I do frozen) Cover with water.
Cook on high in crock until the chicken shreds apart
then you can either dump the foamy chicken water and replace with chicken broth or just scrape the foam off the top - Remove some of the water (you may need this later)
Now add
3 cans black beans - rinsed and drained
1 bag frozen corn
1 can diced tomatoes
1 16 oz jar salsa
2 envelopes taco seasoning
**You may add the reserved water if you need more liquid**
Crock it until it is hot and ready to serve.
Top with cheese &/or sour cream and eat with tortilla chips.

Do I have the record for the longest post??
