Way Back Wednesday!

I saw this set of questions on another's blog and I thought it would be fun to incorporate into Way Back Wednesday. The above is a picture of Jason at Lake Powell, a week before we met. Is it any wonder why I liked him?

What year did you meet your hubby? 1997
How old were you when you met your hubby? 18
How old was your hubby? 23
What was each of your occupation's when you met? I think when we FIRST met I was un-employed, waiting for my job at the Mirage to start. I worked at the Pool Counter as a hostess. Jason was a door to door sale's man for a pest control company.
What was going on in each of your life's when you first met? I had a boyfriend, it was an "on and off" 9 month relationship. The FIRST time I met Jason, we were on. I was just hanging out with the boyfriend, friends, going to dances, working with my Mom waiting for my other job to start.
Jason was just living the life. Going to Lake Powell, hanging out with friends, dating - A LOT! He got this summer job to go down to Vegas (he was living in Utah) to sale door to door for 100 days. Figured he would come to Vegas, make some money and have some fun.
How did you first meet? We first met at a Single Adult Dance. I say we met twice. The first time we met is when I was introduced to ALL the Terminex guys (the door to door salesmen) and after the dance, Jason walked over to me and invited me and the girls to a pool party. I was holding my boyfriends hand as he did this. My boyfriend wasn't too pleased.
The second time we met was 2 dances later. My boyfriend and I had broken up, again, and Jason asked me to dance, and the rest, as they say, is history.
What were 4 thoughts of your future hubby when you met?
*I thought he was really cute.
*I thought he was flirty and kind of a show off. (He got A LOT of attention from all the girls in the ward!)
*I wasn't too sure what a Ski-Bum was? (when I met him, all the other guys told me what college they were attending, Jason just told me he was a Ski-bum!)
*He kind of made me nervous. He wasn't my type at all, and I wasn't quite sure how to read him.
What was your first date? :) Okay, he asked me out for our first date in front of like 7 other girls that were HOPING to get asked out. I was kind of embarrassed by this, because it was pretty obvious that out of all the girls, I was the least interested, and they all were mad at me after that. Anyhoo, we went out with all the other Terminex guys and their dates (see, at this time, the Terminex guys were a HUGE deal, everyone wanted to go out with one of them!) we all went to TGIF's then to the Stratosphere tower. Our first date was crazy. I went home and told my Mom that he was a bit of a dork, and I didn't get him. My Mom told me to give him another try. (Mainly because she was just happy I was going out with ANYONE besides my old boyfriend!) I am so thankful I listened to her. Okay, we are at dinner, and he kept telling me how good I smelt, and kept telling everyone at the table, which embarrassed the HECK out of me. Then when we went to the Stratosphere, he pulled a gimp for all of his friends to laugh at. ( A gimp is when he does a crazy-super stunt fall ON PURPOSE!) All of his friends were dying, I didn't know why it was so funny, and a group of Chinese tourists all gathered around him to make sure he was okay. It was quite the production, he "tripped" over a garbage can and it fell over, causing a HUGE noise and a mess. THEN we are going up the elevator and it's a long ride, the ENTIRE time up he was flirting with one of the other Terminex guy's dates. He swears he wasn't flirting, but he kept saying "i swear I know you from somewhere!" and the girl was all smitten!! So I wasn't sure what to think of him. But it didn't take long for my "I don't know about him" attitude to last. And it wasn't that he "grew on me." He quickly became all that I thought about, and the only person I wanted to hang out with. I always say that he has been my favorite person ALMOST from the day I met him. He was just an awesome guy!
Where was your first kiss? After watching the movie Scream. We had be going out for like 2 weeks, and no kiss yet, so I decided to rent the movie Scream for him to watch, because he had NEVER seen it, and made sure that he knew that I HAD seen it, like 12 times. But he watched the whole thing, not ever making a move until after the movie he finally kissed me. Best first kiss EVER!!!
How long did you date? We "dated" for a year. Actually, only for 3 months. It was just a summer fling. A great one! Then he moved back to Oregon, and we kept in touch through letters and phone calls. I quickly KNEW I needed him. He left in September, broke up with me in December, I got another boyfriend in February, and then Jason started writing and calling more, and he told me he loved me on April 1st, I still had a boyfriend, and then he asked me to marry him on May 1st. We were never really "boyfriend-girlfriend." And most of our relationship was long distance. But we figured a lot of things out, and really got to know each other without our "summer fling" attractions getting in the way!
Did you have a song? We didn't really have a song. But every time I hear Sublime I think of that summer we dated.
What was your first fight? Our first fight was probably the night he broke up with me. It wasn't really a fight though.
When did you get married, how old were you? September 12th, 1998 I was 20, he was 24.
What are 4 things you can do for your hubby to "kiss and make up?"
*Scratch his back,
*Stay up late with him instead of going to bed at 10 o'clock!
*Make him my famous Turtle Brownies.
*Smile. He always tells me he can't resist my smile.
What are your 4 favorite things about your hubby? Only 4???? I love his eyes! I love that he tucks me into bed every night. I love his voice on the phone (probably because of our dating history!) and I love that he works so hard for us!
