Here I go.
As most of you know, I took almost a year off from Love Bug Babies, my company I started 3 years ago making blankets, bibs, moses baskets and baby announcements. We moved, moved again........moved AGAIN, started a company, Caidster fell, .........you know, life!
Then right after I had Avery I began to be really interested in photography. I loved taking pictures of her, and I wanted to learn how to take GOOD pictures of her. So I started practicing, and learning, and talking with photographers up in Oregon. I started showing some of my pictures to my best friend Jamie, who is a wedding photographer, and I decided to start taking on-line classes and buy a "real" camera. Some of my friends and clients saw my work, and wanted me to take their pictures. At first I didn't feel comfortable doing it, so I always said no. I would do some pictures for family, but didn't feel like I could do it for someone else. I was so scared that I wouldn't do a good job, and ruin my chances of taking pictures for my card creations before I even began. I wanted to take it nice and slow. But Jamie kept telling me that with photography you have to just jump in, once you know what you are doing. That was a year ago. And now my on-line class is telling me the same thing, I'm ready, just do it! So I guess that is what I am doing now. I started putting my portfolio together back in July, but I am just now ready to show it. It's still a work in progress, and I still have 5 more Holiday cards to add, and a TON of new baby announcements.
I already have 3 clients wanting holiday cards, 2 clients wanting baby announcements, and 3 photo shoots already booked for this month. I have also gotten a lot of interest is my portfolio, like seriously every week someone asks if I have a web-site, that is why I decided to finally publish it. I am still portfolio building, so I am not charging for my shoots, just the prints. So if you know anyone that wants pictures, let me know!!
Thanks everyone for your support. Ever since starting LBB 3 years ago I have been so blessed with support and a kick in the pants every once in ahwile. It's been a lot of fun, and I am excited for this new chapter of it too. I'm a bit scared too, but I figure if while I am in this "portfolio building" process I don't feel comfortable with my talent, then no harm, just keep designing my cards and taking pictures of my kiddo's!!
Oh yeah- I almost forgot, the most important part. I changed the name from Love Bug Babies to Tippy Toes Photography. When I started Love Bug, I was mainly focused around my blankets and moses baskets, and not so much on my digital designs. Well now I want to focus more on my digital and photography. Thus, the new name!
