Delighted

I am trying to use my word! :)

This month I wanted to focus on getting more organized.
So far so good.

This weekend I had a "Cinderella" Saturday. I spent all day Saturday cleaning and organizing the kids bedroom. It's so nice to know that EVERYTHING is in the right spot, nothing is thrown about, beds are made, and all clothes are clean and put away. For the moment anyways.

Tomorrow for FHE we are setting up new chore lists for the kids. I have gotten lazy with it. It's so much easier for me just to do everything, but on Saturday Caiden came up to me with his sad puppy dog eyes, so I asked him what was wrong and he said "Mom, all you do is clean. You aren't playing with me." It made me sad and mad at the same time. He's right. I never get to do anything but clean, but it's because they make so many messes!!!! This is what Caiden resorted to since his mean Mommy wouldn't play with him. He cracks me up!!!

He decorated the guitar he got for Christmas with Transformer stickers, and he LOVES to totally rock out!

I also started making a weekly menu. My friend has a month of dinners posted in her hallway. Yes, she could tell you what they are eating three Tuesday's from now. I must start small. Weekly steps. And so far I have had to tweak a few things too. I didn't make it to the store yesterday so I couldn't make what I had planned for tonight. So I will make Fettuccine tonight because I have that stuff. I also want to try one new recipe a week. I will post the most yummilicous recipes for you all to try!
**If anyone wants this cute little Menu Template I designed just let me know and I will e-mail it to you.**

I realized I haven't done anything crafty in awhile. I did make Cheesy Ham and Broccoli Potato Soup last week from scratch in the crock pot though. SO SO SO GOOD!! Thanks Hollie for the idea. That suited my "Martha Wanna-be" urge, but now I must do something crafty. I want to make some thank-you cards for some special people. Hopefully I can get to that tonight.
Also, with my organizing and planning for this new year, I want to plan to do 52 Acts of Random Kindness, and invite you all to join with me. It's an act a week, for a year. I got the idea from a magazine. 3 Woman were asked to do an act of kindness every day for 2 weeks then write about how it changed their attitudes. I loved that idea. But I want to try to keep that "helping other's" feeling go all year long. I would love to hear your ideas and things that you do. I started with the first week of January. Last week I made enough Potato soup to bring up to Jason's Aunt and Uncle and made them some Corn Bread too. This week I want to do something anonymous. Still thinking of ideas.

Here's to a "delightful" week everyone!

Love the pictures of Caidster, he is so awesome! The menu is super cute, I would like the template. I really want to have a menu planned as well and I also need to organize a cleaning schedule. I saw an idea on someone else's blog that I am going to try to copy. I absolutely love the acts of random kindness idea, I had similar thoughts of things I wanted to do. It's going to be a great year I think!

I'm loving the 52 Acts of Random Kindness idea. I need to think of others more and be more service minded. A friend of mine mentioned that she wanted to try a new herbal tea...so when I was out Christmas shopping I got her some. But it's been three weeks and it's still sitting on my counter. It's the thought that counts, right?

I love the menu, I would love the format. I just jot mine on a post it because I'm not cute like that. I love setting a menu because it makes me feel so much more together.

I love the kids chore charts idea too. What do you give each kid? I never know what to do for their ages. Good luck, tell us how it goes!

Totally love your "50's" paper! Too cute! I will join you 52 Acts of Random Kindness, it's a great idea! I am going to do the weekly menu too, it will definitely help with grocery shopping and keep me from having to look for something to eat!

I AM "DELIGHTED" TO "EMBRACE" ALL OF YOUR "DELIGHTFUL" IDEAS. I WANT TO "EMBRACE" YOUR 52 WEEKS OF RANDOM KINDNESS. I AGREE WITH THE CHILDREN HAVING CHORES, I THINK THAT ALL CHILDREN NEED THOSE RESPONSIBILITIES. IT BUILDS GOOD ETHICS FOR THEM. LOVE YOU KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, AND THANKS FOR SHARING ALL YOUR WONDERFUL IDEAS, THEY ARE ALWAYS SUCH A "DELIGHT" I LOVE "EMBRACING" THEM.

Having a weekly menu is the best! Some weeks I am really good about doing it and other weeks, not so good. It does help me stay on budget when shopping and also lessens the stress around dinner time.
Your menu is way cute.
