REAL fun!

Last Wednesday Blaise was invited to play a scrimmage game at the half time for the REAL Salt Lake Major League Soccer Team. To say he was excited is putting it lightly.

This was a MAJOR deal to him. It's like being invited to play at the half time of your favorite NFL team or something. Blaise lives for soccer, and he dreams of being a professional soccer player, (I guess it could happen) so to play on a pro field was so neat to him. The boys were touching the grass and going on and on about how nice it was!

(that is just half of his team, some of the boys left the game after their half time scrimmage.)

We got to the stadium about an hour before game time. The Rio Tinto Stadium is AWESOME!!! The boys did some kicking drills, played in a bounce house, Ava found the "kitty cat" mascot and followed him around, hand in hand, for a good 20 minutes, Caiden entered the "circle" for the dance off............he cracks me up! Then Blaise's team was invited to be in the "Parade of Kings" and walk on to the field for the flag ceremony and the introductions of the team. Blaise's coach invited Caiden to go down with them, so now I had two boys in HEAVEN!!!

The first half of the game was pretty un-eventful. No one scored, REAL had a goal, but it didn't count because a player was off-sides! Avery was LOVING the game, she was dancing with the music, yelling at the mascot, and was even featured on the jumbo-tron!!

At half-time Blaise went out to play his scrimmage. He played a soccer game in front of over SIXTEEN THOUSAND screaming soccer fans!! How amazing!! Some of the boys were so nervous before they couldn't even eat, but not Blaise, he was just so dang excited!!!

All in all it was a fabulous night. It was a fun family activity and it made two little boys dreams come true, well, I guess Avery's dream of dancing on T.V. came true too. And we won!! REAL won New York, 2-0!!! It was a night to remember!!!

What a fun night! Okay, I don't know why, but for some reason Blaise's coach totally seems like what Blaise will look like in 25 or so years. Blaise could totally be Brazilian. =)
