smells like home.
Normally, this time of year, I don't like when it snows. Normally I am itching to get outside, to open up the windows, to start wearing cute skirts, to take our annual spring break vacay to Vegas,............but this year, this year I am not sick of the snow yet because we haven't really had a lot.
So when it started snowing yesterday, I didn't roll my eyes and rue the day! Nope, I made cinnabons!!!
These are super easy, and they are seriously SO SO SO good!
You need 1 loaf of frozen white bread, thawed out. Roll it out to be like a 16x7 inch rectangle.
Then spread a half a cup of softened/melted butter on it. Then mix together a cup of brown sugar and 1 and a half tablespoons of cinnamon,
sprinkle that evenly over the butter.
Then you take one of the long ends and roll it towards the other end, then cut into 1 inch slices.
Then place 8 slices in a round, coated, pan. Cover and let sit for about an hour while they raise to be double the size.
Once they are doubled, put them in the oven, preheated to 350, for about 15 minutes.
While they are cooking mix together half a cup of butter, half a square of cream cheese, (about 4 oz.) and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
When the rolls are done spread the frosting on while they are still hot.
Now try to eat just one, I dare ya!
recipe
1 loaf frozen bread, thawed out.
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 cup softened butter, divided
1 cup powder sugar
4 oz of cream cheese
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Spray 2 9 inch round pans. On a slightly floured surface, roll out dough into a 7x16 inch rectangle. In a small bowl combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread 1/2 cup of butter on dough, then sprinkle evenly with sugar mixture. Roll up dough in jelly roll fashion, cut into 16 even slices. Place slices in baking pans and cover and let dough rise for about an hour,or doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 350. Bake for 15 minutes. While rolls are baking, mix remaining 1/2cup butter, powdered sugar, cream cheese and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Top warm rolls with icing. Serve warm!
