Foolish

April Fool's day holds a special place in my heart.

My Mom and Dad are HUGE pranksters, so they always had a blast with this fun little holiday. I remember one year my Mom bought some really fancy perfume, Eu De Toilet, it was french she said, you pronounce it, "oh-de-toy-ley." So fancy.

Well she had us smell this perfume and it just about killed us. It smelt like sewer water!!!

One year my Dad came busting in our rooms first thing in the morning when we were still sleeping, and exclaimed that he won the lottery. That was THE BEST 15 minutes of my life, until he told me "April Fool's."

Then I met my hubby, we dated for a summer, he moved away, we kept in contact, phoned, letters, he came to visit me once, I went to visit him, and then he broke up with me!!!

About a month after we broke up we started chatting on the phone again more regularly, this went on for about a month. Then on April 1st, 1998, we were talking on the phone like we did almost every night, and he FINALLY told me he loved me and wanted to be with me forever!

I was on cloud nine!!!

We said our good-bye's, he closed it with another "I Love you" and we hung up the phone. I could not sleep because I was SO SO SO excited.

Then it hit me.

It was April Fool's day!

NO!!!! He wouldn't!!! Would he??

The next day I asked him if it was a horrible horrible joke!!! He laughed, said he didn't even realize what day it was, all he knew was that he was a fool for me!!!

So now when I think of April Fool's day, I think about the day that Jason fell for me!!! And now the joke's on him because he is stuck with me!

**On a side note, this year for April Fool's the Universe played the BIGGEST joke on us. We woke up to snow and a chicken! Yes you heard me a chicken was in our front yard, and he has been with us ever since. I have no idea where she came from, or when she is going back, but for now, we have a chicken in our front yard that likes to chase me down when I go to get my mail!**
