Dream Team

Blaise's team played in the La Roca Pioneer Cup over the July 24th weekend. They won all regular games 3-1. Weird huh? They won their Semi-Final 3-1. Then they were on to the championship game. They played their BIG rival, and Blaise's team ended up losing in the SECOND over time. 2-1. They played well though.

I missed the first two games because I was away at cheer camp with my girls, but Jason flew back home for the week, so he was able to see the entire tournament. I made it to the semi final game and the championship game.

The bummer part was about 2 minutes before half time of regular play of the championship game, Blaise pulled his Achilles. OUCH!! He was SO mad he was crying on the side lines because he kept trying to think he could go out and play, but when he would try to run it just wasn't working. His team placed second for the tournament. Not bad, but try telling that to a bunch of 10 year old boys who wanted that trophy!!

After the game we all went to Pizza and hung out for a bit. It was nice to get to know some of the parents better. With Blaise being new to this team this year there are a few parents we don't know very well, and hanging out with them at the tournament and at pizza, I've realized that we are on another fabulous team with wonderful and supportive parents!

After the pizza party we went home to rest a bit then were headed off to the Real Salt Lake game. Blaise's team was invited to be the RSL DREAM TEAM!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!

Blaise.was.so.excited!

The Dream Team gets to hold hands with the players and walk out on the field with them and stand with them while they are being introduced and sing the National Anthem.

First we met some friends of ours at dinner at Ruby River, then we walked over to the stadium. I walked Blaise down to the special guests entrance, it took us awhile because of his limp, and then he went with his team into the players tunnel. He was smiling the ENTIRE night!

After we left Blaise the rest of us went to find our seats and wait for the start of the game. We couldn't wait to see who Blaise was walking out on the field with. I was so glad I brought my big ole' camera and zoom lens in the stadium with me so that I could try to get better pictures than with my point and shoot.

We saw the teams heading out of the tunnel and saw that Blaise was walking with Espindola! We knew he would be excited about that! He was so sweet with Blaise. Here he is giving Blaise the "shoulder squeeze." Some of the boys were nervous to be out in front of 20,000 people, but Blaise said he was too dang excited to be nervous.

Blaise is with the number 7 guy. You can't see the front of him, I should have went around the stadium, but I have never had a super star kid to know!! hee hee!

This next picture Espindola and Blaise are the first ones facing us getting ready to turn.
PhotobucketI know this will be a night Blaise won't soon forget! What an awesome experience.

We watched the game, nothing too exciting,........except for the crowd and band from the Chivas was above us and they were a hoot. They sang and danced the ENTIRE evening, throwing streamers and confetti and such. The boys on Blaise's team thought they were hilarious!

After the game we watched the Fireworks for Pioneer Day. The show was one of the best I've seen. It was so fun!

We ended the night with me playing hide and seek with my kids and 2 of our friends kids in the parking lot while Jason and Scott fixed our flat tire!!! The kids LOVED that we were out past midnight!

What a great night!

**I know all the pictures are crazy and look different, they were taken with 2 camera phones, our point and shoot, and my DSL with my super zoom lens that I never use. It's funny to see how each camera takes such a different picture. And I never get to use the computer, (that's the reason for no blogging as of late) because the kids are ALWAYS on both of them playing Roller Coaster and Zoo Tycoon, so I couldn't take time to edit, so bare with the different looks. It adds interest doesn't it? HA!**

**I'm hoping to get to more blogging tonight. I have our Lagoon trip and some crafts to put up.**
