Way Back Wednesday!
Okay, so I wanted to find a funny, lough out loud blast from the past, but as I was going through my pictures, I just couldn't stop thinking about this one! I will try to entertain y'all more next week.
Anyways, this picture, I ACTUALLY remember! I LOVED those shirts!!! Hollie and I always dressed alike, Mom loved it, and we liked it too. We wore the same size as each other, still do, so we could always mix and match.
Now you can't really tell, but we are actually wearing 2 shirts. Yes two! That was the style. Then we were wearing jean skirts, and Hollie was rocking the suspenders in this picture, I wonder where mine were? And you can't tell in this picture, but we were each wearing 2 pairs of socks. One white one, then one colored one that matched the underneath shirt.
And look at my brother, Nick. Is he too cute or what? Hollie and I tried out for a San Diego Fashion Show with those outfits too. We got the gig,........I think it was the shirts that did it!! I think part of the reason I loved that outfit so much was it made me feel like a "big" girl. I LOVED watching Full House, and "Kids Incorporated, K-I-D-S," (did you all just sing that with me?) and wearing this outfit made me feel like one of those kids. I wore this outfit for years! Seriously, I did't grow and I loved it. I think to this day, that is one of my all time FAVORITE outfits. Do you remember your FAVORITE outfit?

This really brings back memories. I also LOVED my outfits that required two shirts and two pairs of socks to match the shirts. And Full House and KIDS INC. were among my all time favorite shows. I wanted to be Martika! :)
That is hysterical! I totally remember donning the double shirts and especially the double socks! One of my favorite outfits was a poka dot skirt with black "biker" shorts underneath and the double socks and tennies! Ha Ha! So funny how seriously BAD the fashion was then! Thank goodness the 90s are OVER!
That picture is so cute. How adorable is Nick? I have to get my childhood pictures from mom so I can start participating in "Way Back Wednesday", it's so much fun!!! Speaking of favorite outfits, I remember I loved this brightly colored shirt I had that in the print you could make out images of lions or zebras or something. I always wore it with white biker shorts with lace at the bottom and my white with pink L.A. Gears that I just had to have. (Remember your black & white B.K.'s (british knights)that you just had to have?) Too funny.
Oh my gosh Jamie! My OTHER favorite outfit was a polka dot shirt with biker shorts underneath. LOVED IT!!!!
that is supposed to say skirt, not shirt. It was a polka dot skirt with the bikers attached underneath. I got so excited about it that I couldn't type correctly!!!
I enjoy reading your Wednesday posts. What a fabulous idea....I may need to copy!
I LOVE THAT PICTURE, IT IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES. I LOVED THOSE OUTFITS THEY WERE JUST SO HAPPY AND FRESH TO ME. HOW DARN CUTE IS NICK IN THAT PICTURE! AS FOR YOUR SUSPENDERS, MY DARLING DAUGHTER, WELL, YOU DID HAVE A PAIR, BUT ON THAT PARTICULAR DAY, YOU WERE EXERCISING YOUR INDEPENDENCE, YOU WERE COMING INTO YOUR OWN FASHION STYLE, AND YOU HAD OUTGROWN THE SUSPENDERS. EVEN WAY BACK THEN YOU WERE A FASHION "DIVA". HEATHER YOU HAVE ALWAYS HAD STYLE, JUST ONE OF THE MANY THINGS I LOVE ABOUT YOU.
HEATHER DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE ABOUT 10 OR 11 YRS. OLD AND YOU COULD TELL I DID NOT PARTICULARLY CARE FOR SOME OUTFIT YOU WANTED TO BUY? YOU STARTED CRYING BECAUSE YOU WANTED ME TO LIKE IT, AND YOU DIDN'T WANT TO WEAR SOMETHING I DIDN'T LIKE. I TOLD YOU THAT YOU HAD HIT AN AGE WHERE YOU WERE STARTING TO EXERCISE YOUR INDEPENDENCE, YOUR OWN STYLE, AND THAT WAS O.K. THAT I MIGHT NOT ALWAYS LIKE EVERY CLOTHING STYLE OR HAIR STYLE, AND THAT WAS O.K. TOO, THAT WE MIGHT NOT ALWAYS AGREE ON EVERYTHING, BUT AS LONG AS WE RESPECTED EACH OTHERS OPINIONS, THAT IT WOULD ALL BE O.K. MY ONLY RULE WAS THAT YOUR CLOTHING HAD TO FIT INTO THE VALUES WE HAD SET FOR OUR FAMILY AND THAT YOUR CLOTHES HAD TO BE "AGE" APPROPRIATE. THAT, WOULD BE DECIDED BY DAD AND I, AS FOR THE REST, THAT WAS UP TO YOU. YOU DID END UP GETTING THE OUTFIT, AND YOU LOVED IT. SO SEE THE NO SUSPENDERS, WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING!
