Carvin' the Pumpkins

Carvin' the pumpkins!
The kids could not wait to carve the pumpkins. Heck, I couldn't wait! But once we started doing it, we all realized it wasn't as fun as we had hoped. The kids are so little they can't really carve, so they just did a lot of sitting and waiting. Ava and Blaise cleaned their pumpkins out, but Caiden refused to touch the "pumpkin throw-up!"
They all knew what they wanted.
Caiden wanted the Decepticon logo for the transformers.
Blaise wanted a skull and bones (you can't see his pumpkin very well, but he drew it himself!)
Avery wanted something cute.
And I wanted Jack the Pumpkin King.
Jason still has to do his. But his is going to be entered in a contest so he didn't want to start it last night. He needs to still "think about it" he said. He is such a perfectionist.
So we carved, or in the kids case - watched, listened to spooky music and sipped hot chocolate. After they were carved we went and spooked two of our neighbors. We got spooked Friday and the kids were excited to do it back. I love Halloween.

I LOVE ALL YOUR PUMPKINS, THE ARE REALLY COOL. IT IS HARD WHEN KIDS ARE YOUNGER, BECAUSE THEY ARE SO EXCITED YET IT IS QUITE HARD FOR THEM TO DO. IT STILL SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT TIME WAS HAD BY ALL, BECAUSE YOU MADE IT A FUN ACTIVITY. VERY FUN!
All the pumpkins are awesome. Blaise did a very good job drawing his own! I love your family, you guys crack me up. I started laughing when I saw Jason carving one of the pumpkins with a power tool. You guys sure know how to do the holidays right. I also like how you just let Ava dig right in all on her own with her cute little outfit on and everything. I have got to learn how to just loosen up a bit and do things like that because after all messes can just be cleaned up right? Anyway, looks like a lot of fun. Oh by the way, what does it mean to get spooked by your neighbors? I'm just curious because we got visited by the Halloween phantom and I was wondering if it's the same thing. One more thing, then I'll leave you alone. When I first glanced at the picture of you I thought it looked like me and I just thought that was funny because you said after you had first done your hair darker the boys kept saying how much we looked alike. Perhaps I'm just flattering myself, who knows?
So much fun! I absolutely love the way Avery just dug right in. So many times kids won't touch the pumpkin "throw-up" as Caiden called it lol
I love carving pumpkins and couldn't wait any longer last weekend, so Nick and I did ours then. I did Jack too! I love the Nightmare Before Christmas...we just got it from NetFlix last week!
Too fun! What great pumpkins! I guess it helps to have an artistic "daddy" that likes to get creative! Awesome job!
Now Jason had the right idea! Those stupid tops broke both our knives when we carved our pumpkins! You guys did awesome they all look great. Oh and can I borrow Avery next yer to get all my "pumkin throwup" out next year? lol
