I'm feeling.........
.......chaotic, unorganized, lost, frenzied, hurried, frustrated.
I need to get back to square one. If I can find it.
I just feel like the worst Mom lately.
I am forgetting library days, permission slips, spirit dress up days, show and tell days, PTA meetings, skipping bath-time, putting homework off until the last second.......I even forgot to put Blaise's lunch in his back pack last week!
Something has GOT to change.
I feel like an Almond Joy. Looks good on the outside, but all nuts on the inside!!
(not that I am saying I look "good" I meant that to the outside my home may seem clean and happy and peaceful, and I may seem to have it all together, but Bwah ha ha ha ha ha, I've got you all fooled!)
So over the weekend, I sat down with myself and went over what I needed to do to get this house running smoothly again. So we don't have anymore more rushed morning, no more rushed bed-times, no more forgetting things, no more feeling like "what else!?" I need to bring order and peace back to our home.
I started yesterday. I started on the laundry that I have neglected for the last week. I went through the kids clothes and decided what they could still wear and what needed to be given away. I cleaned and decorated Avery's room. We painted it last week, and I hung the stuff up yesterday.......it still needs a few finishing touches, but at least I can cross one room off my list. I feel so much better to have ONE clean room, in this entire house, I can see order in ONE room!Today I am going to go through all of our paper work, and organize and clean the mud room. I also want to clean my kitchen, REALY clean it. Am I the only one that cleans the kitchen every day, but hardly ever REALLY cleans it? Like who daily cleans the microwave, mops, cleans the fridge, wipes down the cabinets. If I am the only one that hardly ever does that stuff, please, keep it to yourself...... I am already feeling pretty crappy about myself! :)
Did you know that there are 63 days left until Christmas?
OrganizedChristmas.com has a 6 week countdown to help you prepare for the holidays, so that you can have everything done, by December first. That way you can actually enjoy the holidays and not be running and rushing and feeling like I do right now, when you should be feeling the love and the joy and the spirit of the holiday instead.
Week One - Get Organized.
That is what I am doing!
What are you doing today?

I hear you on the getting organized, I should have a talk with myself too! Avery's room is so darling. I love the colors, the stripes, the accessories. What a fun room!
First off, I LOVE AVERY'S ROOM!!! It is so cute, you guys did a great job. Second, I've been feeling the exact same way as far as how to get the household running more smoothly. Things have just been so chaotic and I feel like the house is always a mess and I can't ever get anything done. I've been trying to figure out how to get on a better schedule myself, but some of that will have to wait until I don't have a baby who wants to nurse 24/7. In the mean time I need to do a better job with what I do have control over.
To answer your question, today I am attempting to make Addison's halloween costume. She is going to be the little mermaid if I don't mess the costume up too badly. Although I don't really even know why I'm trying because when I went to try part of the costume on her she absolutely freaked out and wanted it off IMMEDIATELY!!! I don't know if I'll be able to get her to wear anything for halloween which will make me very sad.
I LOVE AVERY'S ROOM, IT IS TOO SWEET! YOU GUYS DID SUCH A GREAT JOB, HOW FUN FOR HER, I'M SURE SHE LOVES HER "CUTE".
I CAN NOT BARE TO REPEAT WHAT I DID TODAY, LET'S JUST SAY I'VE HAD BETTER DAYS. YOU KNOW HOW CRAZY MY JOB IS. PLUS, IN BETWEEN ALL THE WORK STUFF TRYING TO GET IN CONTACT WITH ALL OUR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS IN SO. CAL. TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE SAFE AND IF THEIR HOUSES WERE STILL STANDING. NOT TO MENTION HOW TO KEEP THINGS AFLOAT, HER AT OUR HOME. SO AVERY'S ROOM WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY DAY, THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INSPIRATION.
LOVE YA,
First of all, Ava's room looks AWESOME!!! I love it! For someone who is feeling so chaotic, you sure get a LOT done! Wow! Wish I did stuff like that when I was feeling chaotic.
By the way, that's why we are best friends.......we're both NUTS! HA!
Love ya girlie!
Ava's room is adorable! I love it. My Lauren never had a pretty girl room....she is still sharing with her brother. Oh well! Ava's a lucky girl.
First off I know the feeling you're talking about...I feel that way so many times. And I get excited when I finally accomplish one task then get discouraged when I realize there's 60 other to follow it. I've become the queen of list making because of this...
You're doing a great job and Avery's room is spectacular! I absolutely love the colors and the stripes.
And yes, I am one of those "cleans the kitchen every day but hardly every REALLY clean it" people. But at least it's clean right?
Oh, and you're Jack looks awesome...mine had a pattern so it doesn't count lol
Keep smiling =)
