HALLOWEEN!!!!

The night has finally arrived and it did not disappoint!!! ( I know those pictures are blurry, but I LOVE them. They remind me of what the night felt like, spooky yet happy!)

We have been lucky enough to live in some awesome neighborhoods that go ALL OUT for Halloween, but this one takes the cake.........or the candy bowl. Whatever.

Everyone, and I really mean everyone decorated their house for Halloween. There was no dark porches, no pumpkin-free porches. The candy was good. We even got some full size candy bars, and a few KING size ones!!! There were a couple houses that had portable fire pits out in the driveway to gather around and warm up. The whole neighborhood was filled with spooky music and fog because that many people had fog machines and music playing. It was really like something from one of those fun sitcoms where it is too good to be true, only in our case, it was too good..........but true!! There were houses with hot chocolate stations, there were a few spook alleys that went through people's yards, there was a house with home made scones and honey butter, there was even a house with hot dogs and chili!!!! It's nice because our neighborhood is our ward. This entire development is in the ward. It cracks me up. So we all just hung out!

(Blaise was in Halloween Heaven! I have never seen this kid smile more! & Avery used her giant pixie stick as a walking stick. She was cracking me up!!)

I know this post is supposed to be all about Halloween, but I can't help but to jump ahead to Thanksgiving because I am so grateful that we found this house, this neighborhood and this ward. When we were faced with the situation of having to move we felt so discouraged, but we were so blessed with finding this place. I always feel so thankful for this neighborhood, but especially tonight. Sometimes I feel like we don't deserve this, or rather I wish that everyone had this same experience. That all kids could grow up in a place like this. I hope that we can stay here for a long, long time. This is ideal for the kids to grow up in. My heart feels so glad tonight.

Anyways,
I didn't get many pictures of Caiden. He had one of his little "episodes" again today. He just crashed like 20 minutes before we wanted to go trick or treating, and when he woke up he was in another land. He didn't even want to go out, he just wanted to sleep. So we got him up and went to about a dozen houses, then he said he was done. So we stopped by one of the hot chocolate houses and got some hot chocolate and sat on the curb, just he and I, and watched for a bit. Then he said he wanted to get in his jammies and call it a night. So I took him home and gave him some food and let him stay here and hand out candy with Dave and Anne. He LOVED it. I kinda felt bad, but that is what he wanted to do. So I went back out with Jason, Blaise and Ava, and we kept walking the neighborhood. We had a blast. Dave, Anne and Caiden had a blast watching the Haunted Mansion and handing out candy. It was another great Halloween and we'll have candy 'til Christmas!

How was your Halloween?

So cute, looks like you guys had so much fun! I love all the pictures and the kids look adorable! I know something gets said like every post, but Caiden really is just like bapa. That's too funny that he'd rather stay home and relax than go out trick-or-treating. Your neighborhood does seem awesome. I think we might just move in with you so we can be a part of it. =)

Wow, I am so impressed and jealous of your neighborhood. It sounded like such a fun night. My 3 1/2 year old was done trick or treating after about 10 houses. He was just not into it this year. Maybe next year?!
