Potty and Pinewood
Catchy title, huh?
Big week around here. Ava used the Potty, and Blaise
had his first Pinewood Derby.
It was a Thursday afternoon, Ava wouldn't take a nap
she was tired, cranky, mean and we were sick of her.
She wanted to take a bath, so I complied, anything to
get her out of my hair for 5 minutes. I have been
asking her lately if she wants to use the potty before
she gets in, she always sits on it, but nothing. Today she
sat on it, and said she had to go "poo poo." Nothing.
About five minutes later I hear a commotion in the bathroom
I go in there and she is on the pot again pushing, saying
"poo poo" . . . still, nothing. I put her in the bath. Later
she says she is done and we dry her off and get her dressed
and leave the bathroom. About an hour later Jason gets home
and goes in the bathroom and yells "Heather, what is this?"
We all go in there to find poo poo in the baby potty.
I told Jason that Ava tried a few times but nothing.
So we ask her, and she says "Ewwww. Yucky!!
Gross!! Poo Poo!" And points to her bum. I think she
got out of the bath, went on the potty and I didn't know.
We were SOOOO proud of her. She was pretty excited too.
She had to call Grandma and tell her all about it. It's funny
because the boys were opposite. They wouldn't do their
"business" in the potty, but they would go pee pee
in the potty. Avery is the opposite. Hopefully we can
keep this up. (Sorry about all the potty talk, but
what do you expect from a mommy of boys and a toddler?)
Second, Blaise had his first Pinewood Derby this week.
It was so fun to watch him and Jason work on it together.
me to sit back and watch, and listen. Blaise designed a hammerhead shark car. It was quite impressive. He got second in a few races, but didn't win anything over-all. This year they were more focused on the "design" and
not the mechanics of it. I didn't get to go and watch, it was the day Avery didn't take her nap, and she would have been a monster on wheels that night. Our ward takes scouts VERY seriously so I knew it would be a circus down there, and Jason said it was. He said some of the Dad's took it VERY seriously. Bringing in the cars wrapped in tissue, placed in shoe boxes. Funny stuff.
Anyways, a lot of the pictures didn't turn out very well, but here is one of him holding his car, and one of the track with him winning second place for that race.

I AM TRULY HONORED THAT AVERY AND I ARE CLOSE ENOUGH THAT I WAS AT THE TOP OF HER LIST TO SHARE HER EXCITING NEWS WITH, I DON'T CARE THAT IT WAS POTTY NEWS, I AM STILL HONORED.
BLAISE, SECOND PLACE IN YOUR FIRST PINEWOOD DERBY IS PRETTY EXCITING, AND YOUR CAR DESIGN IS AWESOME. WE AWARD YOU GRAND PRIZE FOR CREATIVITY, DESIGN AND EXECUSION! YOU ARE SO AWESOME, AND YOUR CAR IS REALLY COOL, WISH WE COULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO CHEER YOU ON, GOOD JOB.
LOVE YA,
BAPA & BAMA
Good job Ava, keep up the good work! That's so funny because Addison's the same way, she'll do her "business" in the potty too but hasn't quite figured out that she's also supposed to pee in there.
Blaise your car is so awesome, I bet it was the best looking one there. Congrats on second place!
His car was the coolest one there. Most of the Dads were into WINNING the race, not looking good while they were doing it! HA HA!!! If they would have had awards for car design he would have won. And just to clarify, he only won second in a few races. He got fourth in a few too. I was proud of him though because he really didn't care. He was just having fun.
