Confession

I'm one of THOSE Moms.

You know, the one that puts off playing with her kids because the house is a mess.
The one that say's "Go play outside while Mommy finishes Daddy's paperwork, and then Mommy will play with you."
The one that takes for granted that her precious bumkins are only little once.

It's not that I set out to go down this path. It's just that my messy house drives me crazy, and I have to help Jason with our company or we can't take care of our kids, and I have to make dinner, and do laundry, and drive around and do errands, and . . . . .

You know!

So I have tried to change my ways this summer. I have tried to put the kids first, and let my other "things" wait. Because after all, they are just things, and my kids, well "they are only little once." I am trying to see my children as the joy that they are, and not just something else I have to get done. I want to enjoy this summer! I don't want them to grow up!! I want them to stay little forever!

So far, I think I have done pretty good. Obviously I am not blogging as much, and let me tell you, it's.driving.me.crazy! I need to maybe just wake up earlier so that I can do a blog or two!! My house - is a wreck, the laundry - it's backed up, the dinner - we have been getting take out, a lot! But the kids - they are swimming, playing with friends, picking flowers and strawberries, going to do fun things, crafting, laughing, loving, living.

I think now that it's been a month of summer fun, we can start to find a balance again. We can start to clean the house a bit!! I can finish my design web page (sorry for those of you waiting, and waiting, and waiting. Blame my kids! . . . But aren't they cute!?) Before I go crazy!

How do you keep a balance of the "easy breezy summer days" and still maintain a happy household, (not just the kids, but a sane hubby and mama!?)

We're all having a current trend around here...lazy summers, not so much!

Enjoy your kids....and get to us when you can!

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Rhett thinks I'm crazy for wanting to stay home from some activity once a month to actually clean the house. It's difficult to find that balance. I'm still working on the machine that creates more time, but it just hasn't worked out yet.

I'm not a cleaner. I hate cleaning and have no qualms with putting those duties off to play with the kids. I usually designate two days a week where I can get down to the nitty gritty...the rest of they days I just pick up as I go and do the everyday kind of housework, like laundry and dishes and stuff.

You're right though...it can get overwhelming...

AS A MOTHER I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO FIND THAT BALANCE OF THE DAY TO DAY DUTIES AND OUR CHILDREN. IT IS IMPORTANT FOR THEM TO SEE THE LOVE BETWEEN THEIR PARENTS, FAMILY DINNERS AND WORK AROUND THE HOUSE. NOW WITH THAT SAID, AS A MOTHER OF THREE FANTASTIC AND WONDERFUL GROWN CHILDREN, EVERY CHANCE YOU GET AND WHEN EVER POSSIBLE, PUT THE KIDS FIRST, RIGHT ALONG SIDE THE HUBBY. BECAUSE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, THIS STAGE OF MOTHERHOOD HAS PASSED, AND YOU ARE IN A MUCH LESS ACTIVE STAGE OF MOTHERHOOD. JUST FOLLOW YOUR HEART AND LOVE THEM, THEY GROW SO FAST SO CHERRISH THIS STAGE OF MOTHERHOOD.

I really need to work on finding balance. Thank you for the reminder!
