I'm a big boy now!
Caiden started Kindergarten today.
He woke up this morning SO excited. We all were excited for him. Blaise helped him get ready, Avery kept following him around the house telling him he was going to school. Daddy called him to give him a pep talk before his big day. I was even excited . . . . . but only because I knew he was.
Last night he picked out what he wanted to be his first day of school outfit. This morning when he was putting it on, he told Ava, "I'm gonna be the coolest kid in school!" He was so cute about everything.
He wanted oatmeal for breakfast, because I told him he won't get a snack at school. He will need to wait to eat until Mommy picks him up at lunch time. We were both a little worried about this. He is a snacker! So he said oatmeal will keep him full.
He grabbed his new Transformers back pack and we were out the door.
When we got to school all the Kinders line up and wait for their teacher to let them in. When he got in line I noticed that most of the parents were off to the side, and let their kid join the line by themselves. I asked Caiden if he wanted to do that too, and he quickly said No! PHEW!!! I didn't want to do that either. So I stood in line with him. He didn't want to hold my hand, but he did kinda lean against me, just so he knew I was still there. He saw two of his little friends in line with him, so he was excited about that.
Then his teacher came out and asked the Kinders to say good-bye to their parents and to follow her in. What!?!? I can't go in with him? So I asked him if he was okay, or if he wanted me to go, and he said he was fine, and off he went. My little Caiden walked up the stairs, doing his super hero moves with his hands, (he does this when he is nervous, it makes him believe he is a super hero.) and walked into his class.

Avery and I looked at each other and it was like she KNEW I was a little sad. She grabbed my hand and said "bye bye Blaise. bye bye Caiden. You are at school. Avery is going home with Mommy now. Come on, Mommy." And we walked back, just the two of us, our big boys were at school!
p.s. Blaise is having MUCH better days now. Thank you all for your sweet words. He and his little friend play after school together every day, and he said the kids that were mean to him are being much nicer too.
P.P.S. - Just picked up Caiden from school and he had a GREAT first day! He played on the Monkey bars at recess, and made a lot of friends, and he said he liked his teacher. HOORAY!!

I'm so scared of this...and it isn't for another 4 years!!!!!
I can't believe Caiden is old enough to be in school. He still seems so young and innocent. I love the first picture, he looks adorable. I'm glad Avery was there to help you through this. We'll have to figure something else out when she starts school!
So cute! I love that he pretends to be a super hero when he is nervous!!! That is adorable! He is such a handsome guy and will do fabulously in school!!! What's it like to only have one at home again?!
How adorable. Caiden is such a cutie. And how cute of Avery to take your hand and be the "grown up". You've got some cute kiddos.
