Labor Day Weekend

The last weekend of Summer.

We normally like to end the summer in style. Have a BBQ, make root beer floats, do something out doorsy, but this year Mother Nature had something else in mind. We had a major Thunderstorm on Monday, wind and hail too! So I jumped ahead, instead of a summer BBQ, we had our first Fall meal - Cheesy Potato and Ham Soup, with Corn Bread and a homemade apple crumbly for dessert. I guess we'll try the end of summer BBQ this weekend?

But, the weekend wasn't a total bust. My parents were able to come up and see us! The kids were BESIDES themselves when they saw them. I kept it a surprise! We always have a ton of fun when they come to visit. They came up to have a big birthday party for all 5 grand kids, mine and my sisters kids. From August 3rd to September 30th, all of the kids have their birthdays, and my parents can't make it to each one, so they came up and threw a combined party. It was so sweet of them to do. The kids felt very special to get 2 birthdays this year!

Highlights of the weekend I don't want to forget:

My Mom jumping in the pool FULLY clothed!
The kids laughing hysterically when she did that.
Going out to lunch and trying to get my Dad to order a "Lime Rickey!"
Caiden getting his MUCH wanted toy.
Ava being speechless. ( I know! Miracles happen!)
Ava calling her new doll "Jesus."
Blaise wanting to know all about my childhood.
Urban loving the cat balls.
Addi's pool party.

Thanks for a great weekend Mom and Dad. We miss you already!

That's nice that you were able to spend the weekend with the fam! And, it's pretty hilarious that your mom jumped into the pool fully clothed. Too bad there aren't pictures of that!

How fun! Sounds like a great weekend. I can't believe all five birthdays are within two months...doesn't give you much time to prepare for the next, now does it?

And how funny that your mom jumped in to the pool fully clothed...that makes me laugh. Your mom has always been fun and able to make everyone smile.

WE HAD A BLAST!!! WE THINK THAT UNTIL WE CAN ALL LIVE CLOSER, THIS WILL HAVE TO BE OUR NEW YEARLY FAMILY TRADITION WE REALLY ENJOYED BEING WITH THEM ALL FOR THEIR "BIRTHDAY". WE SO ENJOY BEING WITH OUR KIDS AND GRANDKIDS, WE ALWAYS HAVE SO MUCH CRAZY SILLY FUN WHEN WE ARE TOGETHER. THE ONLY WAY I THINK IT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER WAS IF WE COULD HAVE STAYED MUCH LONGER, AND SEEN THE SON IN LAW'S A BIT MORE, THE POOR GUYS WERE ALWAYS AT WORK. I'M GLAD YOU GOT SOME GREAT SHOTS OF THE PARTY, OUR CAMERA BATTERY DIED, SO WE DIDN'T GET TO MANY. LOVE YOU ALL.
