A post about politics.
Okay, HOLD THE PHONES! I just found out it was an election year! I mean, the media really should get on this!
I started doing some research and forming opinions. It's really hard to choose who to vote for though because the media isn't helping AT ALL!!! I think that THEY should pick who they want to win, and only make that person look good, and only share the good stories about that person, and hide the bad stories, and then it would make our job MUCH easier! Or better yet, why can't the celebrities tell me who they are voting for, so that I can vote for them too? I mean, who know's more about life than celebrities? And I want to be just like them. I can get a shirt and say "I voted for who Oprah told me too!!!" So I guess if I can't vote on looks alone, I need to start seriously judging these people. This is what I came up with!
A.
John McCain.
Now a lot of peoples' issues with him is that he is old. While I don't dispute this fact, I don't know why it's such a problem. I mean, everyone gets old. I know a few oldies but goodies myself.
He IS old. He may have very well even been around when the term OLD was invented. Who knows, I don't think anyone else was around that long ago to know for sure.
My point is, I was taught to respect my elders, which he definitely is, and I do respect this man. He was a POW for Pete's sake. How awesome is that!!!??? Not that he was a POW, that really isn't awesome, and I'm sure he'd be the first to tell you that. What's awesome is that he is pretty tough for being old!
And since the word "old" keeps getting brought up, I want to be the first to say that I, personally, am excited to be old one day. The hubster and I are going to pretend to be "crazy old people" every Wednesday. We are going to drive down the middle of the lane, pretend to not notice whe they honk at us, talk EVERYONE'S ear off about the good ole' days, and flirt with the young people at the IHOP. Then we will go home and laugh about how we fooled everyone that we were "crazy old people" and watch MTV Hills.
B.
Sara Palin.
She's a Mom! I can relate with that. I have a Mom, I love her very much. I am a Mom and most of my friends are Mom's. So I relate with her most. What I do not relate with is why on earth any woman would be proud to be called a Barracuda? I don't want to insult her intelligence, but why would you want to be compared to a big fugly stinky fish!?
And, what does "fugly" mean? Is it a "fat/ugly" combo? or a "f-ing/ugly" combo? Who knows? Maybe old timer McCain. Anyways, it doesn't matter, both will fit in here! Why would she want to be compared to a big fugly stinky fish? I know I certainly would not!
C.
Barack Obama.
He seems very cool and hip. The very opposite of McCain.
I saw him dancing on Ellen though, and I was a little embarrassed for him.
I would expect him to dance much better. Not because of his race, nothing like that. He just looks like he has so much more dancing potential.
I wonder if he needs dance lessons? I AM a dance teacher. Not that that would get my vote, this isn't So You Think You Can Dance. Although it should be.
As a nation we are SO worried about what other countries think of us, that don't you think our President SHOULD know how to dance? I mean, what would Europe think? They seem to be a very artsy people.
I know a lot of folks were impressed with his dancing and think "we need a president that can let loose and have fun like that!"
I just think this will bring much unneeded cringing from my living room couch!
D.
Joe Biden.
Now to be completely honest and fair, I don't know much about this fella.
But I do know that he isn't old, he isn't a Mom, and he may or may not dance better than Obama.
I am guessing he can though.
I am guessing most Americans can.
I also know that this Man is very confident and brave. I know that I, personally, could never say things about someone to make them look bad, make other people think twice about them, and then stand up next to them and pretend those words never came out of my mouth.
I'm not that confident. I would feel a little stupid and embarrassed.
I care too much about what other people think, that is why I could never run for office!
So there you have it. My take on this race. It's gonna be an exciting one!!!
Make sure you all vote!

I agree, celebrities & the media have been way too unbiased and hush hush about the election this year. I mean don't they know we hang on their every word and look to them to tell us what to do because we're too dumb to think for ourselves...NOT. (Does anyone say "not" any more or is that so last century? I think I may have just aged myself.) Anyway, it will definitely be an exciting race, especially with Jared around, he gets SO WORKED UP about politics. You forgot to mention McCain's laugh though. It's the strangest thing I've ever heard. It's got me thinking twice, I'm not sure I can stand to hear that for the next 4 years. Well I better get going, I've got some dance clips to look up. I think McCain/Palin and Obama/Biden should have a dance off, perhaps that will be my deciding vote.
Leave it to you guys to have a dance off to decide. If that were the case I'd break it on down all the way to the white house!
Okay, THAT was funny!! And I totally want an Oprah t-shirt. You should sell them. You'd be rich!! And then you'd be a celebrity too (you know, the kind who is only famous for her money--what with your t-shirt empire and all). And we could vote for who YOU tell us to!!
Now, call me crazy, but I detected an underlying sense of sarcasm through that posting. Ha Ha Ha. Don't you just love election years? You can't turn on the TV without seeing or hearing something negative about one of the politicians. Can't wait until it's over!
NOT EVEN SURE WHY US THE AVERAGE AMERICAN CITIZENS STILL EVEN HAVE TO VOTE, FOR THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES IT SHOULD JUST BE DECIDED BY THE TRUSTED, NON-BIASED OPINIONS OF THOSE WE ALL LOOK UP TO AND HANG ON THEIR EVERY WORD, YOU KNOW THE MEDIA, PEOPLE LIKE MICHAEL MOORE, OR HOW ABOUT CELEBRITIES LIKE OPRAH, OR EVEN ROSIE O'DONNELL, OR HOW ABOUT PAST POLITICAL FIGURES, LIKE AL GORE (I MEAN HE MUST BE REALLY SMART HE WON A NOBEL PEACE PRIZE). THAT WAY WE WOULD NOT HAVE OUR TV SHOWS RE-EMPTED BY ALL THIS POLITICAL NON-SENSE!
HOWEVER, HEATHER WE ARE REALLY LOVING YOUR IDEA OF THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE BEING DECIDED BY A DANCE OFF, WE THINK YOU'RE ON TO SOMETHING THERE.
HOLLIE, NO, YOU DIDN'T AGE YOUR SELF, WE'RE PRETTY SURE WE HEARD McCAIN USE "NOT" IN ONE OF HIS ADS?
GREAT POST HEATHER, YOU'RE SO CREATIVE AND FUNNY. HEY YOU CAN SPIN A GREAT STORY, YOUR FUNNY AND YOU CAN DANCE, SEE WHERE WE ARE GOING WITH THIS?
You crack me up! You should put this on TV. Maybe Andy Rooney would like you script! Better call 60 minutes ASAP! A dance of would be great, especially that Sarah.....Bet she can really rock out!
