truth be told.......
these two think they are REAL Jedi Masters.

And honestly, it drives me CrAzY!
All I hear all day long is "no, Blaise, I'm using the force on you!" or "I just got your legs, so you can't move, STOP moving!" and "Mom, I just got hit in the head. On purpose!"
I try to be real on my blog. I'm not one of those Mom's that is going to try to tell you that my kids are perfect angels and NEVER fight, and we walk hand in hand everywhere we go, throwing smiles and dollar bills at everyone.
No. They fight a lot.
And I yell at them when they fight. A lot.
Especially when they are fighting because one of them is Count Duku and the other one wants to be a Droid, so they can't fight because one HAS to be a bad guy!!!
See, I don't think they get that this isn't real. Because if they DID get that, then why would they fight over who is who in a PRETEND game!??
I am constantly trying to explain, "Caiden, if you want to be a bad guy, and Blaise is a bad guy too, just pretend he is a good guy or something. It's not a big deal!!!"
Apparently it IS a big deal.
I know when I am walking away from yelling at them to stop REAL fighting and get back to PLAY fighting that they are using the force on me!!!
Another reason it drives me crazy......is our house is about thisbig. (and just in case you didn't get that, it's SMALL!) So they are constantly wacking me in the head when I walk by. Or they wack Ava, or a few times they have knocked things over and broke them.
So then I yell again.
I have threatened to take all 5 of their light sabers away.
Like everyday!!!
They still have them.
I think they used their Jedi mind tricks on me.
But it still drives me crazy!
So, there you have it. Confessions of a real Mom.
*My kids are weird.
*My kids fight.
*I yell at my kids when they fight.
*They drive me CRAZY!
*I hate Star Wars!
*And they try to disintegrate me with the force!

The pictures of your kids are great! You are really talented!
Ugh! We have WAY too many lightsabers around here too. XANDER even plays with them. I'm feeling your pain, sister!
We have too many sabers and swords too...
hahah! snort! This cracked me up! 'Disintegrate me with the force'... i love it! A quintessential boyish thing to say!
So come to me for help, you have, hmmm, how to manage a child's play and yet stiffle their immagination not. Yeesssssss.
"May the FORCE be with you"
(not bad for never seeing one single star wars movie ugh? - but don't blow my cover, my grandson's think I'm in the know)
ahh, the TRUE joys of motherhood!
(that was followed by a sinister laugh) :)
This is why boys terrify me. I don't know that I have the patience :)
And, I was seriously, going to say the same as Steph. We'll never get boys. Same reason my hubby wants a star wars game for his wii.
Silly boys.
But, it's always nice to hear that other moms are in the same boat we're in!
Haha! This made me laugh!! and made me remember when I was a little girl and my brothers played the same exact game!!! Except they used the plastic poles from my barbie town house to fight with while I looked on in horror and screamed "MOM, THEY BROKE MY BARBIE HOUSE!!"
My poor mom!
If I recall it correctly, my mom used "The Force" on them!! While I stood by with that smug little sister face!!
When you figure out the magic trick to get the violence out of your house, pass it on to me! I have two boys also and whatever they have in their hands turns into some sort of weapon!
I love it!!! I don't have boys (or brothers) so I don't have saber wars, but my daughters fight over who gets to pretend to be the princess in every movie we watch. They want to be the only "pretend" princess and will fuss during the movie if their sisters want to pretend to be the same one.Fake is a concept they can't grasp.
When my oldest received a light saber for his birthday it somehow found it's way into the garbage, mmmmmm how did that happen I wonder. Okay I can't lie, with 4 boys all under the age of 9 running around my small house it took only a day for me to realize that the mother that bought this gift for my son must really not like me!
Your blog is GREAT!
oh, i love this post! thank you for showing us the 'real you.' i think i might need to do a post like this soon:) Xo, Clare
