First Day of School
The boys started school on Monday. It was a new school, new friends, new clothes, new teachers. We went to "back to school" night last week so that we could meet teachers, walk around the school, and learn the new rules and such. Then on Saturday we took the kids to go see the movie "Shorts" as our last hoorah before school. Jason gave each kid a "back to school" blessing on Sunday and I made them their favorite dinner, chicken and rice!
I am really loving this school. We have been blessed with really good schools and great teachers so far! (Except for Blaise's first grade, but we are trying to forget about THAT incident!!!)
Blaise
4th Grade
Ms. Lunt
Favorite part of day: "I made two goals at recess. O-ya, I found Braiden and he was SO SO SO happy that I go to his school now. He picked me for his team and told his friends that we would win now that I was there!"
**Blaise was Mr. Chatty for a good hour after school today, which made this Mama's heart sing. Usually it's so hard to get Blaise to talk about his day at school, ESPECIALLY new first days. But he had so much to tell me today and he was so excited about things. I am so glad that 4th grade is off to a great start!"
Caiden
1st Grade
Mrs. Farris
Favorite part of the day: "Coming home!"
**He's such a smart Alec. He had fun. But he can't EVER give a straight answer. He was a bit nervous in the morning when I dropped him off, but when I picked him up he was smiling ear to ear, and waved bye to one of his little friends he made.
THANK GOODNESS FOR GREAT FIRST DAYS!!!
This is on their second day of school. My battery died before the bus actually pulled up, so just imagine a big yellow bus there too! (Do you think the bus drive would think I was totally crazy if I took pictures of this again tomorrow so I could actually get the bus in the shot?)
They have been begging me to let them ride the bus. I really enjoy dropping them off and picking them up, but I guess the bus is part of the whole school experience. We have never been zoned for buses before, so it was never an option, but this year,...........the bus stop,..........is right outside my front door!
WOO HOO!!
I am a paranoid little mommy, so when I heard the bus stop was at the corner of our house and my kids stop was the last one to be picked up before school, and the first stop on the way home, it put all my crazy fears to rest. The boys LOVE riding the bus. I drove them on the first day, but they are bus riding pro's now.
There is just something about life when School starts again. It's like the town comes alive. There is an excitement in the air that you just can't help but feel. Here's to a good year!

How fun hearing all about their day and experiences.
When you go out there tomorrow to take pictures of them lining up at the bus stop (but this time with the bus in the picture), turn around and take a picture of your home. Or have Blaise take a picture of you doing a cartwheel on your front lawn. You are such a good cartwheeler!
I second the cartwheel shot, just because I want to see you do it ;-)
And I am SO JEALOUS that your bus stop is right at your HOUSE!!! You lucky duck!
Ahhh, I love my boy's, they are such cute guys. I'm so, so glad that they love their new school, teachers and friends. Woo Hoo!
I know that I am the Grandma, but seriously, how cute are those two boys.
I love how excited they are about the school bus, Papa Martin would love that.
Big Hugs from Bama,
Love you guys,
