First Dance Recital

I was waiting for this day for a long time.

I know, I sound so dramatic, but seriously, I was so excited for my baby girl's first dance recital.

When I was preggers with Avery, we knew that would be our last. I don't have the easiest of pregnancy's and every one got worse. So we knew that even if I ended up with 3 boys, that would be it. I was so hoping it was a girl. I would have been fine with all boys, I think boys are a blast, but I think every Mama wants at least one girl.

My sister was pregnant with her first at the same time, and she found out she was having a girl, and to say I was a bit jealous is putting it lightly. I still had to wait to find out what I was having and I was SO hoping my last was a girl.

I wanted to buy the cute dresses, the barbies, the hair stuff. I wanted to have fun with the prom shopping, and the wedding dress shopping. I wanted pink and purple, and playing house instead of Spiderman. I wanted the DANCE RECITALS!!!

Friday I did a little mini Christmas Recital for my dance classes. I like to do a few throughout the year to get my girls used to the stage and an audience. At this age they can be so bashful and I want them to be able to shine at our big year end recital. Avery was SO excited. We did her hair, we put on a bit of make-up and she was not shy. She was so happy to be up on stage with her Daddy watching! Times like these make me wish I wasn't her teacher up on stage with her, and that I could be her Mommy in the audience clapping and picture taking.

She made her Mama proud. She knows her shuffles, and flaps and she has her ballet positions down, and that girl can smile!
