Week of Halloween.

Carving our pumpkins always sounds much more exciting than it usually is. This year was actually better though because the kids did a lot more on their own. They designed and drew theirs, they gutted theirs, and they even helped cut, so it wasn't nearly as time consuming this year as years past.

And of course, Daddy pulled out the power saw.

I even roasted some seeds this year. I felt like it was just something I should do. It was a lot of work, and they turned out good, but really, who eats THAT many seeds? We had 5 pumpkins worth. I guess somethings you do just for the sake of tradition.

I went to help in both boys classes this year. My station for both classes were to decorate sugar cookies like Monsters. I took no pictures, but believe me, it was fun was had by all.

We went to the church carnival that the YM/YW put on. Avery and I went and then the boys met up with us later. Avery won "best wild animal." She dressed up in her costume from last year, again, to save her REAL costume for Halloween night.

Her favorite thing was the doughnut eating contest. She was cracking me up.

The boys got there just in time to get a few treats. They won for "most realistic" costume because they weer dressed in their soccer gear, and they will be soccer dudes when they grow up.

Friday the kids didn't have school so we headed to the Pumpkin Patch. Black Island Farms is where we go EVERY year. This year we did one of the BIG mazes. It took us a half hour, not bad!! We let each kid take a turn trying to navigate, in the end, Jason got us out of there.

The kids LOVE doing the slides. I think we should just fill our backyard with slides.

This year they had corn shooting, which was so funny. The kids were giggling their little heads off when they shot them corns!

Avery was the only one this year to ride the tractor train.

After the Pumpkin Patch the family headed home while I went to a play-off game with my Cheerleaders. When I got home we made dinner and watched Sleepy Hollow. FUN!
