New Additions and Slumber Par-tay's!

Wednesday night Jason came home from work with a wonderful surprise. KITTIES!!! We promised the kids that since we weren't able to care for Chewbecca, we would get some kittens instead. Much easier! The kids were very excited. The boys immediately picked out which one was theirs, and picked their names. Avery immediately tried to strangle them. She is getting better now. PHEW!
Here is Megatron and Barricade! (Yes, they are Transformer's, actually Cat-formers!)

Last night was our famous "slumber party" night. Every Friday, since we have been married (almost 9 years now) we have done slumber parties. It started out with just me and Jason renting a .99 cent movie, (we were too poor for the new releases) and bringing out all of our pillow's and blankets and eating dinner(which was usually something cheap, like Tuna Helper.) and snacks in front of the t.v.! We LOVE it! Now it's changed a bit.

We get all the kids in their P.J's, pile up all the blankets and pillows, make pizza and watch our movie all together, (only now we can afford the New Releases!) then after the kids go to bed, Jason and I still have our tradition, one of us will go pick up Chili's or Applebee's to go, and then the two of us will watch our movie. I love Friday night slumber parties, and the kids LOVE it too. I am so glad that we have this little family tradition, that has been part of our lives for a long time now, and for a long time still to come!
The kids loved helping making the dough. I normally do this part myself, but today I was feeling like a "fun mom," or rather a "crazy mom!" What a mess!!! But they liked it.
We made one Hawaiian Pizza (pizza sauce, cheese, pineapple and ham) and then one half and half chicken. One half was Caesar Salad Pizza (Caesar dressing, chicken strips, Parmesan cheese, lettuce, mozzarella cheese and croutons!) and the other half was BBQ chicken (BBQ sauce, BBQ chicken bites, red onion, cheese and bacon) Pure Deliciousness!!!
What are some of your little family traditions?

The kitties are too cute! I bet the kids love them, perhaps Ava a little too much. =) I love your Friday night slumber parties, such a fun idea. I may have to steal it. Something we do that I guess is a family tradition is at least one day out of every weekend (sometimes both days) once Addison wakes up we go get her out of her crib then bring her into bed with us. We just lay in bed playing and cuddling for half an hour or so, then we go make a big family breakfast. I love that time all together.

We do cuddles in our bed EVERY Sunday too! I LOVE IT! I want to set up the tripod to try to take a picture because I am sure they will grow out of it soon. Then after we do our Sunday cuddles in bed we make a big breakfast too. I love that we both do that. The kids KNOW that Sunday is "Big Breakfast Day!" Yummy! I am excited for tomorrow now! I'm hungry!

First of all, the kitties are TOO cute! Love the names! ;) hee hee Secondly, we started family movie nights a long time ago with a once a month deal, and it has quickly become a weekly routine. The kids LOVE it! We just have regular dinner and then get popcorn and some special treat with our movie! That is the one night through the week they are able to stay up late too. LOVE it!

CUTE KITTENS. HOW FUN ALL THE TRADITIONS SOUND, THERES NOTHING LIKE GOOD QUALITY FAMILY TIME.
WHILE YOU KIDS LIVED AT HOME WE HAD SIMILAR TRADITIONS, SUNDAY MORNINGS WERE COZY ON THE COUCH & WATCH CARTOONS, THEN A BIG BREAKFAST. USUALLY, DADS FAMOUS PAN CAKES, I MADE FRESH SQUEEZED O.J. AND YOU KIDS SET THE TABLE. WHEN WE DID FAMILY MOVIE NIGHTS, NOT ANY SET DATE, JUST WHEN THERE WAS AN APPROPRIATE MOVIE OUT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. IT WAS ALL KIDS IN THEIR P.J.'S, PILLOWS, BLANKETS, A PRIZED TOY, POPCORN & SNACKS, ALL LOADED IN THE CAR & OFF TO THE DRIVE IN WE WOULD GO, WE ALL LOVED IT. FAMILY TRADITIONS, MAKE LIFE TIME MEMORIES FOR YOUR CHILDREN. HOW SPECIAL THEY ARE. PROUD OF ALL YOU WONDERFUL MOMS & DADS.

P.S. WE LOVE CAIDENS EXPRESSION WHILE WATCHING THE MOVIE. HOW CUTE IS HE? BLAISE HASN'T CHANGED. REMEMBER HOW WHEN HE WAS LITTLE, HE WOULD SIT WITH A BOWL OF POPCORN AND JUST ZONE IN ON HIS MOVIE? MISS AVA LOOKS REALLY FOCUSED ON THAT POPCORN & MOVIE. TOO FUN. THEY ARE ALL WAY CUTE.

P.S.S. MEMORIES AND TRADITIONS, HANDED DOWN THROUGH THE YEARS, ARE A FAMILY'S GREATEST TREASURES.

I am loving the friday night slumber party idea. How fun! We do the Sunday morning cuddles in bed too! It started out because I was too lazy to get out of bed and get going on Sunday, and has become, I guess, a little tradition. I am getting excited to start some more traditions. Thanks for the ideas!
