I have a confession!
I have a problem. I have an addiction.
Jason is out of town today, so I thought I would organize and clean our closet. I am the type of person that when I "clean" I make a bigger mess. So I have been looking forward to doing this all week. It's the only thing that keeps me sane while he is gone.........tackling a project.
Sounds simple enough right? WRONG!!! I cleaned my closet for about an hour, then decided to pack up the kids and go shopping! You see, my problem is shoes!! I love them. I have always loved them, but until just recently I have been able to control myself. I was able to make do with 2 black shoes and 2 brown shoes and a pair of flip flops. Lately I can't! I have bought 3 pairs of shoes since Saturday! I need help! I have shoes that I don't even have anything to wear with them, .........but at least I have those shoes! I have pink strappy's and green strappy's, I have multi-colored-flowered-silky-lace up the leg strappy's. WHY? WHY? WHY?
And just to justify to myself, it's really not out of control.......yet. I only have about 20 or so pair of shoes, but if I keep spiraling down this path that I am on, it could become quite serious. I have bought 5 pairs in just the last month, 3 in just the last 3 days, what' s next, one a day for a week?
Part of the problem is the sales. THE SALES!!! Every where I go they have their cute summer strappy shoes on sale. Then, how can I resist a pair of black Candies wedge heels when they are only $20? It's a conspiracy. Why are they on sale anyways? Summer isn't over yet people! It's just getting going! And if the shoes stay on sale,..............well, I don't like to think what may happen!
Please don't judge me.

IT'S OKAY, "IMELDA MARCOS" DON'T FEEL BAD. THERE ARE WORSE ADDICTIONS.
SHOES ARE OUR FOUNDATION, SHOES SHOW OUR PERSONALITY, SHOES ARE ACCESSORIES, AND EVERYONE KNOWS, THAT WOMEN LOVE, ACCESSORIES.
I'M AFRAID THIS IS MINE AND YOUR AUNT DEBBIE'S FAULT, WHEN YOU WERE ABOUT 2 WEEKS OLD SHE BOUGHT YOU THE CUTEST PAIR OF SHOES. AFTER THAT WE WERE HOOKED, WE PROBABLY PICKED YOU UP A DOZEN BY THE TIME YOU WERE A MONTH OLD.
I'M SURE YOUR NOT ALONE. I SAW A SURVEY THAT SAID ABOUT 20% OF WOMEN HAVE BETWEEN 16 & 30 PAIRS OF SHOES, AND THAT ABOUT 40% OF WOMEN HAVE 40+ PAIR OF SHOES!
SO I SAY, AS LONG AS THEY ARE CUTE, YOU CAN AFFORD IT, AND MOST IMPORTANT THEY ARE ON SALE, (SERIOUSLY WHAT WOMEN CAN RESIST A GREAT SALE) HAPPY SHOPPING!
Heather, I've been meaning to talk to you about this. I'm glad you came to the conclusion on your own before we had to do an intervention. I think it's time you attended SBA (shoe buyer's anonymous). Seriously though, they all sound so cute, how could you resist? You know we're able to wear summer shoes for months longer here in this inferno I call home, so you can send them all my way once you can't wear them any more. =)
OKAY, I LOVE the fact that we share the same addictions. If it's not shoes, it's purses....I think I own about 12 different purses, maybe more?!! AHHHH Apparently we need HELP!
I love purses too! I don't have a lot, because good purses are a lot more than shoes. It's easier for me to justify a $20 pair of shoes that I don't need, than a $200 purse that I don't need.
Wow! It must run in the family....I have sooo many pairs of shoes, mainly flip flops and cowboy boots, just bought two more pairs of boots last month. Purse are my definate addiction. Actually stopped at Target today (on the way home from Hollie's)and bought another purse...I was supposed to just get out to stretch and go the the bathroom. Oh Well!
I love the way your mother blames your shoe addiction on me. Although come to think of it I did look at shoes for Ali today at Target also.
It must be in the GENES!
