Just.not.meant.to.be.

The Tulip Festival and I.
I guess we are not the perfect couple I had hoped we would be.

I LOVE tulips. We went to the Tulip Festival down at Thanksgiving Point 2 years ago and it was love at first site, on my part anyways. The gardens are gorgeous. I had all these plans to get perfect pictures of my kids frolicking in the flowers.

I guess I forgot my kids don't frolic, and we didn't get one single good picture.

So I moved on, I told myself that the next year I would go, but I wouldn't even bother with the kids, we would just go and enjoy ourselves and just be.

Last year it was SNOWING the entire time of the 2 week festival. Some of you may remember my nasty letter to Mr. Snow Storm!

So this year, I've been counting down the days.
Saturday is the LAST day of the festival. Last week was kinda rainy and I had sick kids, so I didn't want to go. And then this week we are non-stop with activities, so I started to stress thinking I couldn't go this year.

Well on Tuesday the Hubby came home early so we could go down. LOVE HIM. We got the kids in the car, put on a movie and started driving. (It's an hour away.) I was thinking in my mind of all the beauty we would get to soon see. I was so excited.........

but the closer and closer we got, the darker and darker it got. Then the wind started. Then the sprinkles. Then the lightning. We were entering a full on storm.
AND IT WAS RIGHT ABOVE THANKSGIVING POINT!!!

Ughh. I was so mad. I still thought we could give it ago. So we pulled in the parking lot and I got the kids out and tried to convince them that it wasn't that cold and stormy. I got out Ava's stroller and Jason went to get Ava, and we turned around and our stroller was about 45 feet away from us. The wind was taking it away. So we loaded the kids back in the car and decided we were not brave enough to try it out. The Hubby tried to convince me that we could come back before Saturday, but we both knew that wasn't gonna happen.

So I got a few pics in the parking lot and I'll just have to call it good. (notice the menacing sky!)

Maybe next year. Maybe next year.
